Below is a short description of the classes we hold.

Health Care Provider CPR - This course is designed to teach the skills of CPR for victims of all ages, use of an automated external defibrillator and relief of choking. The fee includes the official AHA textbook and student CD. The course is designed for anyone who is currently practicing in a health care field or is entering a health care field course of study. The course is video based with instructor-led discussion and simulation. Students participate in practice and complete various skills and learning stations. A written test is given at the completion of the course. The course lasts approximately 4 hours.

Health Care Provider CPR Renewal - Same description as above, only slightly abbreviated. Participants must have a valid Health Care Provider card or not more than 30 days expired. The course lasts approximately 3 hours.

Health Care Provider CPR Online - The American Heart Association makes available a 2-part program on their web site at http://www.onlineaha.org. Part 1, completed online, is a series of online modules, video, and checkpoints. It is self-paced and gives the student immediate feedback. Once the written test is completed online, the student prints a certificate. The time spent on Part 1 varies based on the amount of time the student spends on the various modules. Part 2: The student calls our training center to set up a mutually agreeable time to do the skills exam. The student brings the certificate to us for the skills exam. This usually takes less than 1 hour. Part 1 fee's are paid at the time of registration on the web site and are determined by the AHA. Part 2 fee's are paid at the time of the skills exam to Harrison County Hospital.
